LINEAR PARK LA PRESIDENTA

The linear Presidenta Park is a green lung of the city in the middle of the Poblado neighborhood. This park link an important business space with a social and party park better known as Lleras Park. The Preseidenta Park counts with several tracks that allow enjoying many gardens as well as practicing sports and spending time with friends.

You can spend time reading, doing sports or shoping some things because this park is near to different malls.

At night you can find several places to eat or to drink something without thinking about time, security or transport.

SPAIN LIBRARY PARK

Spain Park Public Library, better known as Library Spain, is part of a series of urban projects and social development in this area of Medellin for the cultural and social transformation of the city.

For this work, the architect Giancarlo Mazzanti has been awarded, at the Sixth Ibero-American Biennale of Architecture and Planning, Lisbon 2008.

Library named after Spain in honor of the contribution made by the government through the Spanish International Cooperation Agency with the provision of an auditorium.

This park offers an amazing view of the north of the city, as well as; important spaces to read. It was developed to allows people a calm environment to get tranquility, fresh air and a correct costumer attention and overall a space to escape of the chaos in the city.

LLERAS PARK

The Lleras park is an important place in Medellin, because it involves several aspects in this socity. When you go to the Lleras park you could find party, food, music, and representative fashion trends.

In this picture you can see how it looks in a calm day. In day it park give the opportunity to have a good luch or snaks, drink very good shot glasses, a glass of wine and cocktails.

    

This place allows to know young and old people spending time with friends and family. Around it, you get different types of music such as: Rock, Pop, Salsa, Dance hall, Rap, Reggae, Reggaeton, Jazz among other. So, this park is a cultural center in Medellin since you see several styles.

The Arví Park is an ecotourism proposal placed in a Santa Elena corregimiento in Medellín. It is a natural place that offers you natural environment full of fresh air and many trees.

EXPLORA PARK

It is located in the North sector of Medellín

An interactive center for everyone that is considered the most modern park of its kind in Latin America. This park has more than 300 interactive experiences and kids and adults can have a great time because all can enjoy several activities that this place offers.

People can learn how physics plays a role in the daily life. Inside there is a giant foam bubble in the “Living Physics Hall". People can travel through inside mysteries “Life Connections Hall" where people will get the chance to beat a drum with the pulsations of the body. 

Also, people can have the experience of being in the eye of a hurricane in the “Geo-diversity Colombia Room". Explore the virtual word in the “Digital Territory Room".

Explora Park Aquarium

In a exceptional space the visitor is transported to the exuberance of Colombia’s aquatic and terrestrial wildlife ecosystems, represented by 379 native species from the country’s rivers, lakes, and wetlands. 

More than 4.000 species are distributed in the 25 modules.

There are catfish, manta rays, tambaqui or cachama, sardines, and piranhas and so on.

Explora park terrarium.

There,  people will come close to poisonous frogs, exotic snakes, tortoises and tarantulas.

 Also, there are special pedagogical rooms where visitors can learn about animal conservation in their habitats.

People can access to Explora park : tuesday to friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.., saturdays, sundays and holidays from 10:00 to 6:30 pm.

BERRIO PARK

It is considered the heart of the city , it was built in 1680 and in early years it accomplished an important role because it served as marketplace and stage for public and political meetings .

The park is located at Medellin downtown near to Parque Berrío Metro Station. It is close to a Candelaria Church and now a big part of the city’s economy and business,  still work through this historic sector.

NORTH PARK

North park is a municipal park that counts with diverses mechanic attractions made to young and old people.
This place is a significant reference of enjoyment in the city. Recently, the North Park was renovated to improve its environment and customer service. Nowaday, this place is one of the most visited parks in Medellin. So, this years this park has recived more that 500.000 people.

Travel to the earth center.

This mechanic attraction provides a good moment of frantic pace because it involves water, rapidity and people yelling. This attraction is made from rock and has as form a cowardly face.

Slades

The sledges are other important attraction in the park. They have seven lines to go down using inflatable roll to get more speed in the descent. This attraction is for people whom enjoy the velocity and water combination.

LA QUINTANA LIBRARY PARK

It is located in the north side of the city

Thomas Carrasquilla Library opened on March 10,2007 better known as Library Park La Quintana.

It is not merely a library, it is a wonderful public space open and free to community and everybody can express themselves and share with others . It has open and close spaces and a interesting view of the city.

There are reading rooms, meeting rooms, virtual navigation, playroom,an Information Center and commercial area.

     This library has emphasis in art and culture.

LIGHTS PARK

This park is located in Medellin downtown. It was Cisneros square, later it turned into a lights park. Now, there are 300 enormous luminous posts, 2.100 reflectors and 170 floor lamps. Every month, there are different activities as food and accessories sale.

There are some interesting places next to this wonderful park as: the Alpujarra administrative center, EPM library, where people study or they share with friends and there are some shopping centers where people can find several goods.

WISHES’PARK .

     Wishes’ Park

It is located in the north of Medellin city; it is close to planetarium, University of Antioquia, the Botanical Garden, the Explore Park, North Park and music house. 

In this lovely park, Children and adults can learn about astronomy, especially sun interaction with Mercury, Venus, the Earth and Mars.

In a playful manner,  it is possible to understand how, over the time, water, power and primary communication systems have evolved to become the domiciliary utilities we currently know. Likewise, it has a varied cultural agenda and it also has a modern building made up by stores, restaurants,  a projection box and exhibition hall.

Cultural life:

In this place, children learn in funny way, they can play with water streams or on the sandy beach and adults can enjoy a film, a conference or several cultural activities in the small central square.

To arrive to this wonderful park, people can use the Metro and descend in University station. The park is accessible since Tuesday to Sunday since 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
